We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Integration Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and managing integrations between various software systems using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). The Integration Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability, contributing to the overall efficiency and scalability of our technology stack.

The focus of integrations is to enable the delivery of complex IT managed and operations services within our Experience Management Platform (“EMP.”). The integration engineer will work with our product management and software development teams, our IT systems teams, and our customer success teams to integrate disparate systems that provide solution outcomes for clients, and delivery outcomes for our service deliver engineering teams.

Integration Engineer helps to ensure that the tools and systems integrate seamlessly with existing IT systemsand service delivery process and standards. This involves selecting and configuring tools, platforms, and technologies that optimize performance, cost, and maintainability. The role also emphasizes collaboration, working closely with stakeholders such as offering architects, product management, IT, Customer Success, and Data Analytics teams to understand requirements, solve complex challenges, and deliver solutions that empower customer delivery.

Responsibilities

Essential, key job responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with Offering Architects, product Management, Developers, Customer Success, and IT systems teams.
  • Design, develop, and maintain API integrations between internal systems, third-party platforms, and client applications.
  • Collaborate with development teams to build custom APIs that meet business requirements.
  • Implement and optimize API endpoints for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze integration requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications for APIs and integration workflows.
  • Conduct thorough testing of APIs and integration solutions to ensure reliability and functionality.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to API performance, data inconsistencies, or integration failures.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for APIs, integration processes, and workflows.
  • Provide clear usage guidelines for developers and other stakeholders.
  • Implement API security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Monitor API performance and usage to identify bottlenecks or opportunities for optimization.
  • Maintain integration systems and perform regular updates or enhancements.
  • Partner with software developers, product managers, and IT teams to align integration solutions with overall system architecture.
  • Support end-users and clients during API implementation and integration phases.
  • 3+ years of experience in API development and integration.
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful and SOAP APIs.
  • Familiarity with integration tools and platforms (e.g., Mulesoft, Apigee, Zapier, Postman).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
  • Knowledge of API design principles, including JSON, XML, and HTTP protocols.
  • Experience with API authentication methods (e.g., OAuth, API keys).
  • Familiarity with database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and data transformation techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Certification in API development or integration platforms (e.g., Mulesoft Certified Developer).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).

Qualifications

The following are minimum qualifications and requirements required for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in API development and integration.
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful and SOAP APIs.
  • Familiarity with integration tools and platforms (e.g., Mulesoft, Apigee, Zapier, Postman).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
  • Knowledge of API design principles, including JSON, XML, and HTTP protocols.
  • Experience with API authentication methods (e.g., OAuth, API keys).
  • Familiarity with database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and data transformation techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Ability to develop/ deliver management presentations.
  • Excellent verbal written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent high-level problem-solving skills.
