The PM will successfully deliver project work and deliverables while creating long-term, trusting relationships with our clients. The PM will support our clients as they transition from sales prospects to active clients by focusing on client loyalty and building close long-term client relationships. PM’s will own the planning, scheduling, execution, management, and success of all assigned delivery projects.

Responsibilities

  • As a trusted advisor and consultant for our clients, the PM supports our clients as they move from sales prospects to active clients by:
    • Serving as the lead point of contact for assigned client accounts
    • Developing trusted advisor relationships with the client stakeholders and executive sponsors
    • Participating in internal, pre-operations client meetings and contributing to SOW development and review, pricing and margin preparation
    • Building a strong reputation for delivery and competence
    • Communicating effectively, finding the positive and keeping the client motivated
    • Proactively identifying, resolving, or escalating issues that may impact the success of the project or customer relationship
    • Understanding the importance of setting boundaries and going above and beyond when there is strategic value
    • Growing the business, always looking for and anticipating ways to bring value to secure additional business
  • Adheres to defined project management processes, methodologies, and guidelines to:
    • Define and manage project scope (including change requests)
    • Identify resource requirements and assign project tasks
    • Build and manage the project schedule
    • Manage project costs to budget; invoice according to agreed upon guidelines
    • Perform weekly budget management activities such as accurate forecasting and resource bookings, month-end tasks, project close-out tasks
    • Identify and proactively manage project risks and issues
    • Track project metrics
    • Complete project closeout report, lessons learned, and customer satisfaction ratings (CSAT) as required
  • Recommends, builds, and manages an appropriate project communications plan, which includes the following:
    • Schedules and leads both internal and external client project meetings as the project requires
    • Ensures that project team members are proactively aware of delivery expectations and related hours on task
    • Maintains appropriate and accurate records with respect to project status and financial reporting
    • Keeps both internal and external clients informed of important project aspects and facilitates their decision making
  • Provides guidance, direction, motivation, and mentorship to project team members while ensuring that project team members are performing
  • Responsible, in collaboration with the Operations Director, for supporting the realization of the business benefits of the project through the following actions:
    • Ensures that resources are utilized in the most optimal way, that financial performance is maximized, and that the project’s financial goals are tracked and managed
    • Understands and supports the realization of business benefits beyond the project completion date
    • Provides recommendations on improving future project delivery
  • Contributes to SOWs, RFPs, and proposals to support ongoing growth in the business

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration or related fields with an interest in Project Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience with project management methodologies and practices, preferably in the area of service delivery
  • Has experience managing Documentation or Learning projects
  • Specialized knowledge of Industrial & Manufacturing considered as an asset
  • Proven track record of client satisfaction and business growth
  • Has experience working collaboratively with remote team members and leveraging technologies to do so effectively
  • Professional Certifications (considered an asset):
    • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)®
    • Project Management Professional (PMP)®
    • Program Management Professional (PgMP)®
    • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®
    • PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)®
    • Prince2 Project Management Certifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate at both a business and technical level with external clients, project team members, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Ability to provide leadership, consistency, structure, and collaboration amidst change and challenge
  • Ability to shift and change quickly and effectively while keeping the project on track
  • Proficient with project management software, preferably OpenAir, to create and manage a project
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel features such as pivot tables
  • Strong customer-facing written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate customer-facing and internal meetings
  • Manages time effectively. Can work under pressure and meet aggressive timelines
  • Collaborative, helpful to teammates. Shares knowledge. Knows when to ask for help
  • Open to feedback; incorporates lessons learned for continuous improvement
  • Takes pride in producing quality work.
