As the Senior Lead Instructional Designer (ID), reporting to the Director of Learning Solutions, you will be a pivotal member of our Content Solutions division. You will offer thought leadership on learning approaches, strategies, and trends to both our team and clients. Your responsibilities include conducting discovery to define business requirements and gather crucial information. Additionally, you will support the sales team by developing customized learning solutions, writing persuasive proposals, estimating project scope, and showcasing these solutions to potential clients. Leveraging your analytical skills and creativity, you will design effective learning solutions that meet both business and learner needs.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts Needs Assessments and develops Training Plans
  • Designs engaging and memorable learning solutions for both digital and classroom environments
  • Provides direction to the project team on requirements around design, creativity, and quality
  • Collaborates with partners (other IDs, Graphic Designers, Developers, Videographers) to create effective learning experiences
  • Establishes processes and approaches for successful project execution
  • Creates and confirms guidelines for writing, development, and accessibility
  • Works closely with clients to conduct working sessions and review sessions and to address needs and resolve issues
  • Interviews and collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Creates design documents and storyboards for digital and non-digital learning assets for both online and classroom delivery
  • Coaches and supports other Instructional Designers in design and development best practices
  • Ensures overall quality assurance for learning assets (including content, instructional design, editorial, and functional reviews, as well as application of brand, writing, and learning standards)
  • Works with Project Managers to drive projects to successful completion

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or other equivalent program or experience
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a high level of proficiency in the English language.
  • Practical applied knowledge of cognitive, pedagogical, and adult learning theory and instructional design
  • Excellent understanding of and ability to apply ADDIE or SAM methodologies
  • Advanced user of one or more rapid eLearning development tools (e.g. Storyline, Captivate)
  • Exemplary content analysis skills to convert information and learner needs into performance-based, engaging, and practical training solutions
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex, or ambiguous
  • Able to accept and apply constructive criticism
  • Exceptional Client Relationship Management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight timelines and prioritize tasks to effectively juggle multiple projects
  • A degree or diploma in Instructional Design, Adult Education, or eLearning Development, or a combination of working as an Instructional Designer with related formal training, is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years leading learning projects and interacting with clients (3 years minimum designing and developing eLearning curriculum)
  • Professional designation considered an asset
