Technical writers work with internal and external organizations to develop, plan, and write/edit internal and external technical documentation. Work requires use of the appropriate editorial/logical methodologies and process management. Writers must ensure that documentation is written in a manner that customers with limited to highly proficient technical product knowledge can understand and use the material.
Candidates must possess a strong technical aptitude to grasp complex technologies. Domain knowledge in the area of energy management and industrial automation is a huge plus.  Candidates must have excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Researches and analyzes customer documentation requirements; creates document plans; writes and reviews technical documentation for multiple complex products.
• Conducts rigorous data validation for feature content, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of feature-related data.
• Identifies potential issues and creates work estimates for documentation projects.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of DITA and topic-based authoring.
• Demonstrates advanced skills in XML-based authoring tools.
• Quickly learns and adapts to technology, tools, and processes in a fast-paced environment.
• Grasps complex technologies with strong analytical and technical aptitude.
• Leads initiatives to improve content quality and usability and to improve team processes; contributes to strategy discussions.
• Demonstrates solid understanding of Agile and waterfall development methodologies.
• Works with limited or no supervision to pursue established goals and resolve issues as they arise.
• Adapts writing style to project requirements; applies principles of minimalism.
• Knowledge of industrial automation domain systems a huge plus

Qualifications

• Any Bachelor’s degree.
• 7+ years of experience in an IT environment as a Technical Writer.
• Strong knowledge of DITA and topic-based authoring.
• Advanced skills in using XML-based authoring tools and content management systems (CMS).  
• Excellent editing skills.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment with multiple teams
• Good work ethic, positive attitude with willingness to jump in and tackle new challenges
• Attention to detail with a passion for learning and developing.
• Ability to efficiently and thoroughly address feedback on content produced.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development teams.
